Slowing Economy Beating the House

There has never seemed to be a better time to book a trip to Las Vegas. With the economy in a slump, Vegas resorts have pulled out all the stops trying to lure in prospective gamblers. According to this article some resorts are offering two cent rooms while some online travel sites are booking three night flight/hotel combinations for as low as $181 at South Point to $361 at the Bellagio.

Take that into account with the fact that the struggling Las Vegas Sands operator has halted current development and brought on fund raising to avoid an inevitable collapse. Many of the major casino operators stocks are at drastic lows compared to their previous year highs (PropertyWeek.com).

Online casinos continue to struggle as they fight for market share in the turbulent market. Just last week major software provider Microgaming announced that they will no longer be servicing the US market. There is no doubt that this has caused some friction for other online casino operations like Tower Gaming, who currently excels in other markets besides the US with their free slots tournaments. This is all stemming from the lawsuit filed by the state of Kentucky against certain online gambling properties that accept US customers. This combined with the current economic condition of the United States makes it seem like the US market is becoming more of a headache and less of a cash cow for online casinos.

The current economic situation has tipped the bargain-scales more in favor of the consumer, and there has never been a better time for prospective customers to snatch some great deals and promotions both online and offline. It’s just a matter of time before prices get so low that business picks up.
