Help Fight the UIGEA and Boost US Economy

A very interesting article appeared on the change.gov website today which discusses how important it is for the US government to toss the UIGEA and regulate online gambling. The article discusses how the revenue generated from online gambling could help the US economy and the recession that the country is facing. While we understand that not everyone believes in online gambling, it is a multi-billion dollar industry which would generate millions in revenue each year for the United States. Even the land based casinos, especially those in Vegas are realizing the mistake they made by not getting in on the game when the boom first hit. (Great article here about Vegas casinos )
Here is the link to the article and we ask players to vote the article up. Even if you don’t believe in online gambling at the very least give it some consideration and think about how those funds could help the current crisis the US people and various other countries across the globe are facing.

A quote from dboy (change.gov reader)
“This is win/win, the government can stop attempting to limit the freedoms of americans to spend their time and money as they please, and in return gain billions per year in tax revenue.
Even if you are against poker, no one is forcing you to play, but you will benefit from the taxes collected from those who do.
Poker is a skill game that is NOT played against the house, so there are also many skilled americans who earn additional income from it and the government should not be trying to take that away.
We have to realize that gambling is never going away, and we must also realize that it is better to regulate it than to prohibit it (because prohibitions do not work).”
