Lucky 18 Casino Okay

Written by Haylie | Friday, November 6th, 2009

Lucky18Casino is now on the cleared list. Thirty-four-year-old, Naphtali Goldman, sole owner of Lucky 18 Casino, has been cleared by the Israeli courts to commence with his online casino operations.

Israeli police began investigating Goldman earlier in the year when he was suspected of making online gambling available to Israeli residents. About two months ago, Goldman and other Israelites were interrogated by officials, who claimed they were hosting an online casino website within Israeli jurisdiction.

Apparently that investigation turned up no evidence to support the claims, and in a press release, Goldman explains tat he and his online gambling operations have been “…exonerated of any wrongdoing by local authorities.” He claims that the allegations that he was hosting and processing payments via Lucky 18 Casino in and out of Israel were not true.

Jude Esther Nachliel-Khayat, from the Rishon Leziyon Magistrates Court, didn’t seem to believe that Goldman had broken any laws at all, and amidst the proceedings, she asked, “Tedi Sagi [a major shareholder in the Playtech software company] was my neighbour. I am therefore somewhat familiar with the subject. What is the difference between him and Mr. Goldman before me?”

Goldman explained, “Lucky 18 casino, founded 2 years ago, was found to have all relevant licenses’ to operate a legal and transparent online casino; after an exhaustive investigation, Lucky 18 casino has been found to run a bona fide legitimate operation as is required by law.”

His released statement seemed to serve as a notice to the online casino and gambling industry that he and his operations have returned to fully-operational capacity, outside of Israel.

Goldman’s lawyers suggested that they may follow up with a civil suit against the enforcement agencies: “Due to the lack of understanding about the online gaming industry, authorities acted irresponsibly, opening the doorway to a substantial civil lawsuit.”
